MPB Communication’s Series of 1RU products is an easy to deploy, system-ready solution for optical link enhancement. The 1RU-Series product line includes:
Wavelength Converters- to interface 1310 nm short-haul data transmission to optically amplified systems. Data rates from E2 to STM-16 are available.
Power Amplifiers- for post amplification before launching the signal into the link. Power amplifiers are available with saturated output powers from 7 to 21 dBm for both single channel and DWDM applications.
Preamplifiers- to enhance effective receiver sensitivity; these preamplifiers provide one of the lowest noise figures in the industry.
Raman Pump Sources- to provide distributed Raman amplification for long reach requirements. |

Based on a common 1RU platform, each unit is self-contained with its own optical, electrical and alarm handling functionality. Each type of unit enhances system performance. When used in combination, maximize system reach is achieved.
All units are managed via a similar, easy to use Craft terminal graphic user interface.
Units are selected based on the particular system requirements, thereby optimizing cost without compromising future upgrades.
