| Quadratic Phase Shift Keying transmission format tends to establish itself for medium and long haul 40 Gb/s fiber transmission thanks to a reduced number of needed photon per bit and an unparalleled tolerance to chromatic dispersion, PMD and nonlinearities. QPSK-LN-40 is a modulator specially designed for QPSK 40 Gb/s optical transmission. It is based on a dual high bandwidth and low V pai Mach-Zehnder architecture, implemented on a proven and high stability x-cut substrate. The low Vpai and extended bandwidth of each single Mach-Zehnder stage guarantee efficient 2 x 20 Gb/s transmission. |
